This video on Power-Based Modelling is the fourth in the SMC Masterclass series on comminution, filmed in front of a live audience in Santiago. This presentation looks at power-based models, both their theoretical and practical aspects. Particular attention is paid to what has become known as “Morrell’s Method” with the emphasis on its origins and the history of its development. This approach is contrasted with that developed by Bond. The equations associated with each methodology are described in detail. Their applicability to crushing, High Pressure Grinding Rolls, Autogenous and Semi-autogenous milling, rod milling and ball milling are discussed and their accuracy is illustrated using a wide range of published data.
